ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of the Plastic Diet core team, the fundraiser is the innovative and creative entrepreneur who will pave the way for financial support! Plastic Diet is upscaling and we want our campaigns to have a LARGER impact than EVER, which means you will play a pivotal part in realising the goals of our organisation. 

Responsibilities of this role include campaign strategy, project management, and assisting with marketing. Joining our community in this role will provide you with a unique opportunity to use your entrepreneurship and to develop your skills.

  • You are very passionate about eliminating plastic pollution at the source

  • You enjoy sharing and appealing to a wide range of audiences

  • You are an efficient verbal and written communicator

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with the events team and work collaboratively with the Media Extraordinaire.

  • Research relevant grant and fundraising opportunities

  • Aid in writing applications and proposals for grants

  • Create, plan and implement fundraising activities to support the society

  • Promoting Plastic Diet as the face of our organisation in the Auckland region/UoA

    • Attend events to a wide range of audiences, including our volunteers, public servants, other organisations and the general public

    • Represent Plastic Diet and advocate our work through the press, social media and other platforms

  • Aid in the construction and review of our financial budgets

 

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in fundraising activities

  • Marketing skills will be beneficial

  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills

  • Project management skills

    • Able to lead teams and work with teams

    • Proactive problem solving

    • Group decision making skills
